WHERE: KPF | 11 West 42nd Street (b/w 5th & 6th Avenues)
TOPIC: Jutta Albus’s presentation “Can you produce a higher Quality of Construction with less cost and greater speed through Prefabrication?”
We will plan events and ask for volunteers.
We will discuss the work/life balance topic.
Additionally Jutta Albus, Research Associate at Universitat Stuttgart, will present her research topic “Can you produce a higher Quality of Construction with less cost and greater speed through Prefabrication?”
Increasing global population growth and rising urban migration rates are indicators of a continuous increasing demant for housing. To reduce the associated land use as much as possible, higher building densities and compact building structures are essential. Ms. Albus will present her studies of how current construction techniques must change to meet ecological and economical expectations while utilizing high perforamnce technologies. Possible solutions for high-density structures are compared with respect to materials and construction techniques emphasizing their prefabrication potential.
